Baby and Swimming

Have you ever thought of sending your baby to swimming lesson?
For me, I advice parents to sent your baby or kids to swimming class. But  I know at Malaysia, its really hard to find trainer yang boleh ajar baby swim.Usually majority trainer akan train kids yang age around 4 years. Ada a few trainer yang boleh train baby, but you must hire personal trainer which is logically mahal,sebab kita hire trainer khas untuk baby kita sahaja. For those who can swim, you boleh ajar your baby sendiri and I also suggest for those yang rasa susah untuk train your baby swimming at public pool, you boleh beli pool at your home untuk biasakan your baby with water and bagi your baby tak takut air. Parents play the most important role, parents kene relax and confident, jgn gelabah or rasa takut, sebab nanti baby pun akan rasa takut effect from kebimbangan parents.

Ni antara beberapa design pool yang you all boleh beli. Please pilih pool yang dalam untuk bagi your baby float and kicking. It will be fun to swim with your baby. This type of pool muat untuk you and your baby.

Apa baby perlu pakai untuk swim ni?
If you plan to start introduce baby to water by using your own private pool, its up to you, no need to wear anything pun takpe. But if you all plan to bring your baby to public pool, boleh la carik swim wear or swim diaper for your baby. Tapi if female, you all better beli swim wear, more proper and tutup aurat.;)

What precaution should I take?
If you bring your baby to public pool.It is advice to wait until your baby's major immunisations are done.So maybe around 6 months.Sebab at public pool, kandungan klorin dalam air adalah tinggi, hygiene standards dan kebersihan air adalah berlainan.Kita tak sure betul ke pool tu bersih or macam mana.So better kita ambil langkah berjaga-jaga.For those yang just beli pool kat rumah, actually dari segi hygiene adalah lebih terjamin.

Pastikan juga bayi anda tak tertelan air from the pool.Sebab ada kes baby kena diarrhoea after swimming. Anda perlu pastikan kepala baby anda is above water at all times untuk mengelakkan baby anda tertelan air pool. Anda boleh gunakan neck float seperti gambar di bawah. Ada banyak bentuk neck float ni, you can choose mane yang you suke.





Tgk baby tu, rilex je pakai neck float.Thats how your baby look like when using neck float.Cute kan?..hehe..

Lg satu, bile baby kicking, akan menguatkan muscles your baby.Sebab tu if anda perasan, baby ni hobby mereka suka tendang2, baring pun tendang2, diri pun tendang2, mandi pun tendang2.Actually all the movement akan strengthen their muscles.

Jika anda lihat your baby telah mengigil kesejukkan, take out your baby from water, dan start session with 10 minutes, up to 20 minutes, avoid stay longer than 30 minutes.

Jika baby anda selsema or tak sihat, avoid pergi swimming ok.

Another one, if your baby ada masalah kulit, check with your paediatrician first to make sure yang chlorine level inside water won't irritate your baby skin.

Your Role
Just stay calm, perhatikan baby anda swim and swim la sama2,mesti your baby suka. Then, make sure yang muka anda pada paras mata baby anda.Means your baby boleh tgk your face laa to maintain eye contact.You also need to smile to boost your baby confident level.When you calm, your baby also calm and enjoy swimming.

If you swim at public pool, just make sure bawak susu, towel, nappy, cloth and suma yang berkaitan.Sebab swimming ni akan sebabkan your baby lapar, so please standby susu for those yang bottle feeding. If you want to bring toys pun boleh, bagi your baby suke main-main dengan their bath toys.

Introducing Your Baby to Water
Before you bring your baby to pool, just make bath time tu fun. You boleh letak bath toys, then give time untuk your baby kicking, splash water, so nanti bila your baby dah biasa dengan air. When you bring to public pool, or pool sdn bhd yang agak besar kat rumah tu, your baby rilex je and suke.

Pilihan terletak ditangan anda, banyak kebaikkan bila anda introduce your baby to water from a safety point of view and its also fun.
